CPD Statistics

As of January 1, 2021, the FBI's National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) became the national standard for law enforcement crime data reporting in the United States. The NIBRS protocol outline that offenses be categorized into 3 groups; Person, Property, and Society. 

Crimes against Person are crimes such as murder, rape, and assault. These crimes involve individual victims. 

Crimes against Property are crimes such as robbery and burglary. The objective of these crimes are to obtain money, property, or other benefits. 

Crimes against Society are crimes including gambling, prostitution, and drug violations. These crimes involve activities that society prohibits. 

*The Campbell Police Department is contracted by the Santa Clara County Fire Department to conduct all criminal arson investigations for their service areas, including contract cities and unincorporated parts of the county.

Use of Force

In 2023, the Campbell Police Department had a total of 31,691 calls for service. The vast majority of our police officers' interactions with the public do not result in use of force. Use of force occurred in approximately 0.14% of the total calls for service.
