In an effort to assist residents with moving in and out of their homes, the City will allow the temporary placement of a storage container (pod) in the public street for a period not to exceed 60 days. The proposed location must not interfere with the orderly movement of traffic, nor impede visibility. An Encroachment Permit is required for this temporary use of the street area.
The application can be made using our on-line system, however inspection staff can also be made available at the Public Works Counter to assist with submittal of the application - please call ahead at (408) 866-2150 to confirm staff is available. Upon receipt of the permit application, the proposed location will be reviewed by the Engineering Division staff. If the proposed location is deemed acceptable, a permit will be issued upon payment of the fees ($188.70).
