Citywide Shared Lane Markings Project

The Citywide Shared Lane Markings Project installed shared lane bike markings throughout the City on streets leading to schools and parks.  Shared lane bike markings (also called “sharrows") are marked on the pavement to help bicyclists know where to position themselves on the roadway beyond the reach of opening car doors (the area where a door swings out is called "the door zone").  Portions of the following streets received sharrows.
  • Budd Avenue
  • Capri Drive
  • Chapman Drive
  • East Rincon Avenue
  • Eden Avenue
  • Milton Avenue
  • Phoenix Drive
  • Virginia Avenue
  • West Rincon Avenue
The project was completed in May, 2017.
