Campbell Avenue/Railway Avenue Bike Box

East Campbell Avenue between Railway Avenue and Poplar Avenue
This project will install a green bike lane on westbound East Campbell Avenue between Foote Avenue and Railway Avenue; a green bike box on the westbound approach of East Campbell Avenue at Railway Avenue; shared lane bike markings (“sharrows”) through the East Campbell Avenue/Railway Avenue intersection; and, sharrows on East Campbell Avenue between Railway Avenue and Poplar Avenue.
The project was completed in March, 2021.
This project will install near-term improvements identified in the Transportation Improvement Plan for Campbell's Priority Development area (TIPC) as a project concept to provide bicycle facilities between the Los Gatos Creek Trail and the entrance to the Historic Downtown at the Campbell Avenue/Railway Avenue intersection.
The project would install the following:
- A bike lane and green bike box on the westbound approach to the Campbell Avenue/Railway Avenue intersection (bike box across both westbound lanes.)
- Sharrows in both eastbound and westbound directions of Campbell Avenue at Railway Avenue and between Railway Avenue and Poplar Avenue to establish a connection between the Historic Downtown and the Los Gatos Creek Trail.
The project is funded largely with a Transportation Development Act (TDA) Article 3 grant supplemented with City Capital Improvement Program Reserve (CIPR) funds.
The project bid opening was held on October 20, 2020.
A Notice of Intent to Award is hereby given that the City of Campbell Public Works Department intends to award a contract to the following bidder: Chrisp Company, Fremont, CA.
This notice constitutes compliance with Public Contract Code Section 10345. Any protests concerning this proposed award must be filed with the Campbell Public Works Department, 70 North First Street, Campbell, CA 95008 by 5:00 P.M. on November 4, 2020.
